Projects
In focusMT, relevant projects can be mapped transparently in a central location. This is where projects can be described and associated reviews and measures can be defined.
Note: The project management is not a classic project management software. There is no work breakdown structure with tasks, schedules and their dependencies. There is also no resource and capacity planning included.

Project overview
Navigate to Projects -> Manage Projects via the menu.
The project overview displays all of the organisation's projects as a tree structure.
The date filter controls the period for which you want to display projects. In addition to entering an explicit start and end date, there are quick filters for selecting quarters and calendar years.
Use the Add button to add new projects, and Edit to edit or delete existing projects.
The projects are displayed as a structure tree whose levels can be expanded and collapsed. Harveyballs in front of the project show the current status of the respective project. Green projects are ‘on track’ and are expected to be achieved, red ones are ‘off track’ and are unlikely to be achieved. Yellow projects are ‘at risk’ of not being implemented.
When you click on a project in the structure tree, information about the project is displayed on the right-hand side of the header:
- Start and end date of the project.
Below this, tabs display further project details:
- The Description tab can be used to describe the project in detail.
- In the Members tab, employees can be assigned to individual project roles.
- The Reviews tab is used to enter regular checks to review and comment on project progress. This includes a description and an assessment of the degree of implementation and project achievement. The most recent review of a project controls the Harveyball in the target cascade.
- In the Actions tab, necessary tasks for achieving the project are entered with a description, responsible person, degree of implementation and start/end date. Actions can be agreed upon for new projects or as corrective measures during reviews (see PDCA).
- In the Relationships tab, relationships to other focusMT objects can be entered to make causal relationships transparent and contributions to strategy implementation visible.
Create Project
Navigate to Projects -> Manage Projects via the menu and click on the Add button.
New projects can be added on this screen. All mandatory fields are marked with a red *.
The Folder switch can be used to specify whether the new element is a folder for storing projects or additional subfolders. If the switch is not set, a project is created.
Each project can be assigned a parent project. If you select the entry ‘None’, the project is assigned to the top level in the contribution hierarchy.
Every project needs a short and concise project title. This should be formulated in such a way that it describes the desired outcome as accurately as possible.
The description can be used to describe the project in more detail, providing a clear and precise definition so that everyone can understand it.
The start and end dates of the project are variable and not tied to a fixed time frame.
You can then save the project by clicking the Save button, which will take you back to the project overview.
Edit Project
Navigate to Projects -> Manage Projects via the menu, select the project you want to edit in the structure and click on the Edit button.
A project can be edited in this modal screen. All mandatory fields are marked with a red *, as in the entry screen.
You can confirm the changes and return to the project overview by clicking the Save button.
You can delete the project by clicking on the Delete button. For security reasons, you must confirm the deletion process by clicking on the Delete button.
